Scout Larue - 6 years old (Fostered in Myrtle Beach, SC)

Scout was used as “breeder” and then dumped at a shelter along with two elderly male boxers. When she got to my house she was terrified of everything. Even just being out in the yard. It didn’t take her long to blossom into a sweet loving dog that is grateful for any attention and just wants to be by your side. I don’t think she has ever been in a house or a car before we got her. She gets along great with my male American bulldog and my female Pomeranian and also is great with my 4 kids ages 4-16. She is doing great with potty training but does have an occasional accident. She is crate trained but she hates the crate and makes the saddest sounds when she is in there but stops after about 10 minutes. She hasn’t chewed up anything. So I’m not worried about her in the house. She is a great dog, still a little timid, getting used to living outside of a kennel.

Scout Larue is a doll!! I don’t think I’ve ever met a sweeter Boxer girl! She is doing wonderfully now with pottying outside. She’ll whine to tell you she needs to go. She will do better with a fenced yard and another dog in the house. She has met my neighbors poodle and the lab on the other side of the fence and she’s fine with them both! Nothing seems to phase her! She will go in the crate but does not like it and will let you know. We’ve been letting her stay out with our Boxer and she does fine. She’s great with children of all ages! Very gentle and loving! She likes to go on walks and enjoys playing ball in the yard as well! She loves to snuggle and get as close to you as possible! She’ll be your buddy forever!

6/27/18: From foster mom…

Scout is one of the sweetest boxer girls I’ve ever fostered! She’s completely potty trained now and will let you know when she has to go. She does need a fenced yard and another dog in the house. She has a little separation anxiety but I am seeing her relax more and more as she’s been with us. She LOVES going on walks and does pretty good on a leash. She does not like the crate and as CBR Director Angel says will “sing for her people” Loudly!! LOL! We tried the first night and ended up letting her sleep with us. She’s an early riser but sleeps all night at the end of the bed.

She has no health problems other than still a little under weight.

She’s good with children, including toddlers, other dogs big and small...not sure about cats. Adopt Scout Larue!!
