Peppermint Patty - 1 year old (Fostered in Summerville, SC)

5/7/19: Peppermint Patty is a one year old sweet boxer girl who happens to be deaf.  She already knows a few hand signals, and her foster mom is happy to help her adopter with training resources- deaf dogs are easy to work with and she is very smart!  She is good with dogs and kids, and is crate trained.  She has lots of energy since she is so young, and loves to run zoomies and play with other dogs.  She is looking for a forever home that has a 6’ fence, as she has proven that she can jump over 3-4’ gates.

5/13/19: Patty has been with us for a week, and boy is she a joy to foster! Her exuberance for life is contagious! Patty is deaf, but she doesn't let that stop her. She is ALWAYS happy and loves to be with her humans and the other dogs in the house. She LOVES to run zoomies and play, and being only a year old, she has lots of energy to burn. We think she would do well in a forever home that has other dogs that want to play or an active family that will get her out to burn off her energy (typical one year old boxer!). She does not like to go into her crate, but settles right down and is calm. She is house trained and knows a few hand commands already. She is very smart and likes treats, so we believe she will be easy to continue to train. Because of her age and activity level, we think she would do best in a home with children 5 and over, as she might knock over smaller kids. She also needs a yard with a 6' fence, as she is very agile and can jump high. She is already spayed and has gotten a clean bill of health, so she's ready for her forever home.

5/12/19: Peppermint Patty here! I've been in my foster home for a week and boy, is it awesome! I love playing with the other dogs here, as I'm a typical one year old bouncy boxer. I'm also very athletic, and love to run zoomies in the yard. Foster mom says I could be a track and field star, as I also can jump very high (she says I need a home with a 6' fence just in case I decide to jump while I'm outside- I haven't yet, but I know how to jump baby gates if I need to). I am very loving and give the BEST kisses. I also love to play with toys. I have shown zero guarding behaviors with food or toys, and am just happy to have people and dogs paying attention to me. Foster mom says it would be best for me to go to a home with children over 5 or dog savvy children, as I'm a good sized young boxer who is learning not to jump. I'm super smart though, and am learning lots of new things everyday with the help of treats and hand signals. Oh, did I tell you I'm deaf? I don't let that stop me at all, and foster mom says training deaf dogs is easy- you just use sign language instead of words! A benefit of being deaf? I don't get spooked or scared by loud noises, and I sleep REALLY soundly. I'm learning to love the crate- I don't mind it when I'm in, but walking into my crate willingly is something my foster mom is working on with me. I'm sure I'll have it down in no time. I'm looking for a home with people to love me, soft beds to lay on, and people who understand what a typical one year old goofy boxer is like. Could it be you?
