Dobby - 9 years old (Fostered in S. Prince George, VA)

9/3/19: If you want a sweet boxer, Dobby is your boy. While he might be 9 and a little overweight, he still loves to go on walks and play with toys. He loves every person and child he meets and gets so excited at meeting new people. He loves car rides and lounging on the couch with his people.
While he does get along with smaller dogs (25+ lbs) and dogs his size (didn’t care for the Great Dane he met), Dobby does prefer his own space. He played really well with a 25 lb French bulldog. He has not been tested with anything smaller than 25lb.
Dobby was an only dog for the last 3 years and he is still learning what it means to be a big brother. He came not wanting to share toys and not wanting any dogs to eat around him, to him being more tolerant. In the short time that he joined our family, Dobby has adjusted very well.
Because he has been the only dog previously, Dobby can be dog selective. He does not like cats AT ALL. and while he will go in a crate, he doesn’t care for it and honestly he doesn’t need it. He doesn’t have any accidents or chew anything he’s not supposed to.
He is a very lovable and cuddly boy.

9/11/19: I know I haven’t done a lot of updating on Foster Dobby but we really wanted him to have plenty of time to adjust. You see Dobby was the only Dog for 3 years and he gets thrown into this huge pack at his foster home of big and little dogs and even a cat! He has made huge HUGE adjustments and just needs a little fine tuning. The one thing he made it clear was that under no circumstances did he like the cat and there is no changing his mind.

His favorite doggie is Betsy a little 25 lb French bulldog. They will chase each other all over the house and he is the most tolerant of her playing with toys around him and being around his food bowls.

At the beginning no dog could play with toys or each other or be around food with Dobby in the room. A month later, he is allowing playing and quickly corrects himself with food. We don’t leave food bowls around but we will try testing to see how long his tolerance is AND every time it lasts longer with more of the pack around. He is not so sure about dogs bigger than him and has more issues correcting himself when she visits, however boxer size to 25 lbs seems good with him to lounge around with or keep company. He and our oldest boxer will sleep together and stay out in house together when no one is home.

Oh speaking of that, Dobby is completely house trained, loves couches and getting pets, sleeping with the little people, and even crate trained (although that’s his least favorite place).

Help spread the word and find him his awesome forever home.
