Chip - 2 years old- (Fostered in Columbia, SC)

Hi, Boxer Folks! My name is Chip. I'm a super sweet boy with great manners. I was in a bad accident and my leg is broken in multiple places. Foster Mom took me to the vet today to see what we can do to make me stop hurting. The nice vet at Four Paws, Dr. Wales, put a snazzy orange splint on me and said I need big time surgery. She told FM I'll need to go to a doggy surgeon and that he will be able to fix me. So, fingers and paws crossed that we can make this happen quick 'cause I sure am in a lot of pain!

10/31 Update    Chip is recovering well from surgery to repair his broken leg. He has his cast off, and the staples are removed. He still holds the leg up a lot inside but will put weight on it outside in the yard. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at all. He started the "slow kill" method of heartworm treatment last week. Chip loves all humans! His favorite thing in the world is to snuggle and get lots of petting. His second favorite thing in the world is a yummy munch to munch on. Chip is not a fan of other dogs and would be best the only dog in the home. Over time, he may adjust to a canine companion with extremely slow introductions. However, it would be best for him to start as the only dog. Chip walks well on a leash with a harness and likes to ride in the car. He's a well-mannered boy who does not need to be crated in the house (though he will go into the crate for a treat). He knows how to use a doggy door.

Chip is around 60 pounds and medium height. His fawn coat is soft and tight. He has natural ears and a docked tail (it had to be removed when he had surgery to his leg due to "happy tail" trauma). He would absolutely love a forever family of his own and would be an awesome companion for a couple, family, or single person!
