March, 2012 ...
We have recently learned that Roxy has Juvenile Renal Dysplasia. This is a condition where her kidneys did not fully develop at birth. While there are treatments available for her there is no cure. Her life span will most likely be limited to 4-5 years. At this point she is very happy and totally asymptomatic. She has responded very well to her meds.
Roxy is a special boxer who needs someone special who can make her remaining years full and happy ones. The medications are very reasonable (about $35 a month) and require a vet visit about every 3 months to do some lab work.
Can you find a place for her in your home? Roxy will pay you back with unconditional love.
January, 2012 ... Hello to everyone! I am Roxy and new to Boxer Rescue.
I am a cute little girl (only 40 lbs) that is here because my previous owner had to move and I could not go. But they took very good care of me and I am spayed and heartworm negative and and up to date on all my shots. I am only 1 and 1/2 years old and I love to play outside and with my chew toys. I walk well on a leash and enjoy being with kids. I have an older boxer foster brother here and we get along very well-he lets me be the "top dog". There are 2 cats here and I like them too. I love to snuggle with my human whenever I can. I get to sleep on the bed here but I also like my dog bed.I am almost 100% housebroken but hey-everyone makes a mistake sometimes right?
So if you think a small, happy, female boxer is a good fit for you please consider me.
