DOGS IN AREA SHELTERS & OWNER REFERRAL DOGS
The following Boxers and Boxer mixes currently reside in shelters, humane societies or with individuals that are unable to permanently keep them. All are in need of adoption. Due to our inability to accept any new rescues, it is our hope that this page will assist these dogs in finding new homes. There are always more Boxers in Carolina shelters than the Boxer rescues can help. If you'd prefer to adopt a Boxer from a shelter rather than a rescue, please check www.petfinder.org or 1-800-save-a-pet.

Carolina Boxer Rescue, Inc. makes no representations regarding these dogs as they are not in our program. These are courtesy listings only. To find out more about one of these dogs, please contact the shelter or individual listed next to each dog's picture.
Hi there, my name is Katie, and my story is a sad one. My original owner and I lived in his car until he was able to move into an apartment. Well, guess what, I couldn't move in with him, so the only thing he could do was surrender me to Animal Control. He was really sad, but I was glad that we didn't have to live in a car anymore. The nice folks at Pets + Grooming in Wilmington, NC were nice enough to offer to foster me. My foster mom says that I am dear to her heart, but I really need a home of my own.
Please call Vicki at 910-681-0510 to find out more about me or come visit me at the store. I am now housebroken, spayed, up to date on vacs, love to give kisses and I know how to obey commands. I'm very laid back but I do love to play ball. I love other dogs too! Everyone tells me I am the PERFECT dog. Katie is 2 years old and about 35 pounds.

Linsie from St. Pauls, NC  fostering a male Boxer about 5-6 years old (Romeo) and a female Boxer about 3-4 years old (Juliet). They have been with another family who fostered them as long as they could, but they feared their landlord would find out and make them send this pair to the pound. They are completely vetted: altered, utd on vacs, heartworm negative, dewormed, etc. They are good with kids and may do well indoors. They are currently staying in a fenced backyard but since cold weather is on its way, I am reaching out to you with the hopes we can find these two sweethearts a home where they can live in a nice, warm home with their own family.
We have no idea where they came from, they just wondered into the yard of a nice family and didn't want to leave. They were there 2-3 months and I have been caring for them about 3 months as well. No microchip was found and nobody has come forward to claim them. I am thinking that maybe a soldier who was getting deployed may have just turned them loose to fend for themselves...that is very common in this area.

Riley. 5 yr old (DOB 4/2006) female boxer/ greyhound mix. She's a rescue dog, adopted by previous owners from York County Humane Society.  She was severely abused in her life prior to the shelter.  Weighs around 50lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots/ vaccines and on Advantage Mulit for heartwork, flea, tick, etc. She has been spayed. Riley loves being an only dog though as she loves the one on one attention. 100% house trained- I leave her out of her crate when I leave.  Only concern right now is that my travel for my career is leaving me unable to care for her.  Would like to find her a good, stable home who will give her the attention and love that she deserves.  She is very active, likes to be lead of the pack, and takes some time to warm up to new environments, people.
