March 5, 2010... Trudy saw the vet today. She greeted everyone with lots of kisses. She has gained a total of 8 lbs in the last two weeks and now weighs 45 lbs. Everyone who meets her loves her and she quickly reciprocates. She traveled with me in the car on the day's errands and was a very calm car rider. The vet thinks she is closer to 2 years old than one year old. At home she has been doing well. She plays very nicely with our two children and sleeps with our twelve yr old on her doggie bed next to our daughter's bed. No potty accidents in the house as of yet! She quickly does her business when we take her outside. She is very sweet with our 9 yr old female Weimeraner but she has been challenging our 3 yr old male boxer for the alpha spot. She is 1/2 his size but that doesn't stop her. She will snuggle next to him while they are resting but hasn't wanted to play with him. She definitely prefers human attention and stays closely by our side, always looking for a pat on the head or cuddle.
February 28, 2010... Trudy has been in foster care for only one week and she has been thriving. We are so happy for her progress, she is full of energy and eating heartily. Her true boxer personality is shining through, curious, playful, happy, & loving. Her coloring is beautiful, reverse brindle with white flashy markings. She is sweet with our two children 7 yrs old and 9 yrs old, and dog friendly. She gets along well with our older female Weimeraner and loves to tease our 3 yr old male boxer. He is a bit too rough for her right now, but as she continues to put on weight we will allow them more play time. We have been trying to get better photos of her but she follows us so close her nose is always in the camera! So far she is crate trained and doing well. She has not soiled at all in the house but we have not given her free reign just yet. She is a "petite" boxer only 19" high at the withers, sometimes referred to as a pocket boxer, absolutely adorable.
February 25, 2010... The name Trudy means " great strength" , well suited for this spunky little girl. She was found as a stray with her brother Bentley, both emaciated & dehydrated. Despite her condition she is full of love, all kisses and tail wags. She has been very sweet and agreeable, easy going and ready to go where you go. She has been eating well and doing great with the house training. We are working hard to put the weight on her, which shouldn't be too long as she is eating 4x a day. This little pup deserves a life of love & puppy fun..she still needs to learn how to play! She is HW+ and needs to be spayed, hopefully she will get some sponsorship and donations soon to get her treatments and be ready for her furever home. How can anyone resist that
cute face!
