SUNNY
September 14, 2009...  Sunny is doing well. He has no problem going up the stairs, jumping on and off the bed and playing chase with the dogs in the backyard. He is a lover. He loves to take shoes or basically anything and wanting you to chase him. He is not much of a chewer though. We do have to watch him at the front door as he likes to bolt out and then runs from you as a game.  Over all he is doing great.

July 23, 2009...  Sunny is doing well.  He is definetely going to gain some weight here.  He loves treats!  He is GREAT with our kitten as you can see from the pictures.  He is very playful and has a lot of energy.  We are having to work with him a little in regard to playing with Reven, my 3 year old son.  He is only playing, but will knock him down and gets right in his face clumsily.  He is house trained.  No accidents inside since he has been here!!

July 14, 2009...  Sunny has arrived is foster care and is doing great.  He has been good with all of the people he has met.  He also gets along with the female boxer and kitten in his foster home.  Sunny seems like a great guy.  Sunny does has some stiffness in his hips due to a previous hip surgery that didn't take.  CBR will have to have this addressed once funds are raised.  Sunny does not seem to be in any pain but he does have some difficulty going up and down stairs.

This is what the shelter staff had to say about Sunny:
This guy breaks my heart. Sunny is such a kind, unassuming, gentle soul who patiently lays in wait as people walk past his kennel hoping someone will stop by and say hello. He immediately caught my eye on July 3 as he was the only dog not going wild and crazy as I approached the kennel area. As soon as I walked into his kennel, it became immediately apparent why he was quietly resting in his igloo. Sunny cannot physically jump up and down and act like a tightly spun spinning top. As we have come to find out in bringing him into our local vet, Sunny is the victim of a expensive, botched hip operation. Sunny can gingerly walk at a slower pace and does not appear to be in any pain. What will really get you about this dog is how regal, proud and accepting he is. We walked for about 15 minutes and he was such a joy to be with! We would stop periodically and he would nuzzle into my shirt and his whole rear area would just quiver with joy. His docked tail went round and round and brought such a huge smile to my face. Sunny had two nose to nose encounters with cats as we made our journey and he was such the gentleman with both cats. He would smell the cats and then quietly walk away. Our vet feels his condition can be "repaired" with another operation so we are hopeful we will have a taker who is willing to put Sunny back together and give him the life he deserves.
