SCOUT
July 26, 2011...  Well, it has been over a year since I've had Scout. I have had several other boxers come and go, and I STILL say Scout is the goofiest! He is a very special boy to me. Even with his slight disability, he is happy, healthy and full of life. He will jump, run and play with the best of them. He has never met a person or dog he doesn't want to get along with. As long as they like to play, he loves them. When first meeting Scout, he acts a little timid until he gets to know you. And that doesn't take long at all. He just seems to be careful of opening up to people until he knows for sure they really do like him. He is one of the most comical dogs I have ever had and he makes me laugh everyday. He loves the water hose, but only on his terms. He will let you know how much water he wants to play in, especially on hot days.

I love this boy and he deserves a family or person who will take up alot of time with him. He is house trained and very obedient with me. He is not too fond of car rides but he is learning that not all car rides mean a trip to the vet. He is starting to go to the car and jump in himself now.

Scout is one of a kind. I will never ever forget the love he has shown me in the past year. And the laughs. Can't forget the laughs!

Scout is now 2 yrs old and according to the vets, his disability should not effect him at all. They said maybe when he is old, he may have to rely on a wheel chair to get around, but that is only a maybe. Today he may look a little "funny" running and jumping, but that just gives him more character.

June 26, 2010...  Scout is one goofy goofy boy who just loves everyone and everything. Ever since his playtime out in the fresh dirt in the garden about a month ago and he had to get three baths that night, he wants to get in the tub everytime we go in that bathroom!!!

May 19, 2010...  SCOUT IS ONE GOOFY LITTLE BOY!! HE LOVES LOVES LOVES OTHER DOGS TO PLAY WITH. SCOUT JUST TURNED A YEAR OLD IN FEB, SO HE HAS ALOT OF ENERGY TO BURN. HE PLAYS WITH MY OLDER BOXER, BUT HE WEARS MY POOR BERT OUT. SCOUT WOULD DO GREAT IN A HOME WITH ANOTHER ACTIVE FURBALL TO PLAY WITH.I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY TYPE CREATURE THAT HE WOULDN'T LOVE.........
SCOUT'S MEDICAL CONDITION DOES NOT DETER HIM IN ANYWAY. SO YEAH, HE WALKS A LITTLE FUNNY, HE RUNS LIKE A GIRAFFE AND HOPS LIKE A KANGAROO, BUT HE IS ENJOYING HIS LIFE. HOPEFULLY HE WILL NOT NEED ANY SURGERY OR A WHEELCHAIR WHEN HE BECOMES A SENIOR. THE VET'S SAID TO LET HIM JUST ENJOY BEING A DOG AND RUN, JUMP AND PLAY ALL HE WANTS. SCOUT IS FULLY HOUSE-TRAINED AND KNOWS BASIC COMMANDS. HIS NEW HOME WILL ALSO HAVE TO INCLUDE A SWIMMING POOL. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A HUGE INGROUND/ABOVE GROUND POOL, JUST A LITTLE KIDDIE POOL WILL BE FINE WITH HIM. SCOUT LOVES THE WATER. HE LIKE TO STICK HIS NOSE IN THE WATER AND BLOW BUBBLES. HE WILL TRY TO CATCH THE WATER COMING OUT OF THE WATER HOSE TOO. WHEN HE SEES YOU GET THE WATER HOSE OUT, HE IS ONE EXCITED LITTLE BOY. THIS IS ALL CUTE AND EVERYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE WASHING YOUR CAR......LOL
AS YOU CAN SEE IN THESE PICS, HE ALSO LOVES THE DIRT. BUT HE GOES TO HIS POOL TO WASH HIMSELF OFF IF YOU TELL HIM TO.  HE IS JUST AN ALL AROUND GREAT LITTLE BOY WHO DESERVES HIS OWN FAMILY......................

April 14, 2010...  Scout is special needs being that he may need a wheelchair when he grows old. His vertebrae is shortened due to bad breeding and causes Ataxia in his back legs. He is soooo great though. As for now, he can run faster than my baby, Gracie, and shows no pain what-so-ever. He is house trained, LOVES to chase, run and play....he's awesome and fun, oh and super goofy. I suggest that he lives with another young playful dog with a big yard. I believe the running around has been great therapy for him. I feel he is walking better since he's been using those back legs more to chase Gracie. I would love to adopt him because he and Grace seem to have fallen in love....always licking each others chops! But I'm afraid it would be too much for me with a 1 year old, a prissy kitty, Gracie and my husband. We hope to find him a really great home with a family who is willing to except his medical problem because we are not sure if it will be fine in the future or get worse.  His last major evaluation for his handicap was when he was 4 months old (with his previous owner)...he is a year old now.  Please consider opening your home to a special needs baby - he is a WONDERFUL boy!
