February 1, 2010... Sadie had a great Christmas in her new foster home! She loves her new family, fur sister and fenced yard. She is happy, go lucky and loves to play with the boys (ages 11 and 16). Since she is still young she does have a lot of energy but after a good game of tug of war or running around outside or in, she settles down nicely. Also, with her being young, she does tend to go pick up the Crocs or tennis shoes but when told firmly "no", she learns quickly. If she is provided with lots of toys, tugs, rope toys and big bones, she leaves the shoes alone!
Her three tug/rope toys that Santa brought she has already popped the tennis ball or torn up the rope, so her new foster mom bought her extra tough, extra strength toys (from Sams for only $9.98 for the set!!) and she loves them!!!! Plus, they keep her occupied and are still in their same shape!! :=) She also LOVES the big knuckle bones stuffed with peanut butter!!!
Sadie is a very smart girl with a lot of energy but she learns quickly and calms down nicely when given some exercise each day!
December 21, 2009... WOW, Sadie is a sweetie pie! What a face! She is doing great in my home. She and Joy are getting along wonderfully, she is proving to be fully house and crate trained and loves running around in the fenced yard. Sadie is a little hyper (LOL) but she loves my son, Nicholas, and he will take her and run around and play with her in the backyard. She does settle down nicely and can be a good couch potato while we are watching Christmas movies!!!
Sadie went for a visit with me at my friend's house. She was VERY interested in his cats and I think she wants to play not hurt .... but a home without cats would probably be a better fit for Sadie.
November 23, 2009... Sadie's a funny girl with one floppy ear higher than the other and jowls that hang low. We've taken our time introducing her to the other three dogs and as of today, she's hanging out and doing great with them. She's only about a year and a half old, very thin, and is heartworm positive.
She didn't know a single command 2 weeks ago, and wasn't housebroken. But, she's a quick learner and is beginning to sit when asked. The house training has been easy and very seldom has an accident.
She's big & goofy, seems to love everyone. My great niece and great nephews will be here this week, can't wait to see how she does with the little kids.
Sadie is full of energy and likes to pounce on toys in the yard, she's really very funny and will give her new family lots of smiles, love, and happiness !
November 22, 2009... This is SADIE, our girl with a tail, and she wears it proudly. She prances across the yard holding it high with a curve at the top. If you love a smushed face, long flappy jowls, one ear higher than the other and a short nose, you will fall for her.
She was saved the morning of her date with euthanasia by a great couple, she's at Grandma's house now and we'll begin to introduce her to the other dogs one by one.
Lots more to come about this cutie-pie !
