Memorials for Boxers who are now at the Rainbow Bridge
The loss of a pet is extremely difficult. Our fur babies spend their lives giving us unconditional love. When a pet becomes seriously ill or passes away, we can take comfort in knowing he or she has gone to a happy, warm place called the Rainbow Bridge.
Carolina Boxer Rescue feels deeply for you in your time of grief. If you would like to add a lost pet to our Memorial, please fill out a Memorial Form. This will give you a place to visit your fur baby throughout the year. We ask that you donate $25.00 or an amount you feel appropriate to CBR to help other Boxers in danger of crossing to the Rainbow Bridge.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Nyla
5/2/97 - 10/17/08
I lost my beloved best fur friend to cancer. The pain is so
unbearable because I think of her and see her in all that I do. She was my
constant companion.Nyla loved meeting people and always had a smile on her
face, but she was also very protective of me and the children, be they human
or animals that I found and adopted. She loved to play with the goats and
would always keep them in line. But most of all, Nyla knew that she was
loved very much. She will be a part of my heart for the rest of my life.

Ramses
January 23, 2009
There are furred angels on this earth and my beloved Ramses was
one of those. He was loved by many in the CBR family. His regal and quiet demeanor stayed with him to the end. I was truly blessed the day he came into my life. We both were at a cross roads in our lives and needed one another. He will always be in my heart and I know that my Bodie was there waiting for him. We love you Ramses.

AMY

Amy was a wonderful. sweet girl. She became ill suddenly and went to Rainbow Bridge with her foster family by her side. She will be missed so very much.

MANDI
It is with a heavy hurting heart that I have to inform you that Mandi, our Princess, has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Mandi was the angel we adopted from CBR after fostering her. Mandi was the sweetest, gentlest, most giving dog we have ever had. She loved us so unconditionally and she blessed our lives every day she was with us. Mandi died from congestive heart failure which she was diagnosed with in October last year. We didn't think we would have her this long after she was diagnosed since it progressed so fast in her. So we were lucky to have her these extra few months that God allowed us with her. She was our special Princess and will always have a place in our hearts. Please keep her fur brother Angus in your thoughts and prayers as we expect this to be hard for him. After all, they chose each other and that was why she stayed here as her forever home. Thank you to CBR for bringing us this wonderful angel. She will always be with us in our hearts forever.

A donation has been made by Phyllis Long in honor of Chandi Davidson's beloved boxer, Rosalie.
"A special friend who had been with Chandi numerous years. She has brought joy and happiness in the stories that Chandi has told us in the office whenever Roscoe was just adopted and how she accepted him and taught him so many neat things"
CBR pulled this sweet little girl from an NC shelter. She was sick and was brought directly to the vet. She tested positive for Parvo. Although the vet tried to save her she did not respond to the meds. Sadly she had to be euthanized on 4/9/2009.
Sammie (aka Boom-Boom)

Sammie was our friend; Sammie was our joy; Sammie was part of our family and will forever be in our hearts. We miss her so very much and we hope that she knows how much love and joy she brought to our lives.

BEN VANNOY
December 27, 2006
Ben is dearly missed, even two years after his death. I've never met a sweeter, more gentle dog. He was our child before we had skin kids and when the first skin kid came, Ben was so wonderful with him. Something about Ben was so special that we bonded more than I ever have with another dog. I think he appreciated being rescued and knew he was finally truly and deeply loved. I really feel like he was my once-in-a-lifetime dog. Ben was a true friend and is thought of and sorely missed every single day.

RUDY
March 4, 2009
We rescued Rudy 8 years ago. She was about 2 years old at the time and only weighed 20 pounds. She made a great recovery and lived another 8 years. She was the best dog we have ever had - she was definitely a special spirit!

Brodie
My husband Charles and I miss him so very much. He had degenerative myelopathy and was a trooper right to the end. He was our silly circus clown, never went anywhere without his flippy floppy frisbee, and gave us 10 years of pure joy. We were so very fortunate having him to love and be part of our family.

BINDI
June 2009
“She was deaf but taught us so much. Coming from a couple of kill shelters it took sometime for her to accept us completely. She was a “toughy” and fought til the end. She loved to lay on the dock and take in all the smells drifting by”

JIMBO
July 3, 2009
CBR pulled Jimbo from an NC shelter on July 1st. He was severely emaciated, HW positive and very anemic. Jimbo was one of the worst cases of neglect we have seen. We tried to make him well, but his frail body was too weak to fight. With a heavy heart, his foster mom had to help Jimbo to the bridge on July 3rd. We all wished we could have done more...
SUGAR RAY
2000 - June 18, 2009
Sugar Ray came to us from a shelter near Raleigh NC. He had been dumped there at age 9. His handsome regal face and the sadness we felt over his age made us try to find him a foster home. Once in my care (2/09) we saw the large tumor on his leg that was a Mast Cell tumor. We began to raise funds to remove the tumor. He was such a good foster boy! He got along with everyone. After a few months I noticed weight gain, spacey-ness and a cough. A vet work up May 8th confirmed he suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy and also a large tumor on his heart. Sweet Sugar Ray was on borrowed time. Even with the lasix, enalapril and vetmedin medications, he improved for a few weeks then went back into a funk. It grew harder and harder for him to walk and have energy. Dr Wagner and I helped our beloved Sugar Ray to the bridge much too soon after his diagnosis. He was a special boy and we enjoyed every minute he was with our boxer rescue. Rest in Peace.

Annie B Fine, Too (2000 - 2009)
Our constant companion, the Princess. She filled our home with love & laughter. Protector of the house, gentle guardian of all children, big sister to TUG & NIKKI, friend to all fosters. She never complained about the number of dogs that came in the back door. She gave up her bed, bowl, collars, leashes, all so a strange dog could rest their weary body. She was the first to lick their faces & let them know they were safe. She'd look at me with those chocolate brown eyes & ask, ANOTHER one ?
To our friend more loyal than any other, my co-pilot in the car, the dog that could never have just one toy in her mouth. Annie-girl, our one of a kind, sweet boxer girl, at the Rainbow Bridge where tennis balls are endless and a squeaky toy never loses it's squeaker. We miss you so...

Max
Max came to us with burn scars about the size of the end of a cigar on
his body. He was the sweetest most loving boy you have ever seen, but
just so full of himself. He went to work with us and thought his purpose
in life was to greet everyone who came in whether they wanted to be
greeted or not. He was my constant companion and never let me get out of
his sight. He is very sorely missed but was very loved.

Conan
11/24/2000-10/11/2009
My Conan, my friend, my protector, my clown. He came to me a skinny broken shell and filled out to be the best friend a girl could ever have. He never met a stranger. He absolutely loved to ride no matter where he was going. Always the gentleman, unless he was snoring in the bed, but he always understood when he was relagated to his recliner in the living room. No one can ever replace that big-ole-lug in my heart and I will see him again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Dusty Sands
December 6, 2009
Alex Sands
December 8, 2009
Dusty came to us in August 2004. We did not want to take in another foster at the time. I think we already had one, but he was nine years old and I knew he did not have a chance of being adopted at the shelter. I went and got him. Turns out he was a fear biter. He would not let humans get very close to him and we did not know how to handle a boxer like this. We took him to see Jenny and she told us he was fixable and would take time and it did. After about 8 months we decided to adopt him. He was happy at our home. He turned out to be the best boxer we ever had. I noticed that in the past 3-4 months he was getting very thin. His knees were bad and he had a hard time getting up on the recliners or the bed. We picked him up. I even build two ramps so he would not have to climb the steps on the outside. Yesterday afternoon we returned from the beach and he was fine. In a matter of about an hour his heart and lungs started to fail and he would not stand up or even eat. I knew it was time. He went peacedfully with Cyndy and I by his side. He is no longer suffering. He was a good boxer and he had the best 5 years of his life with us. Dusty we will miss you dearly.
You know about our Dusty being put to sleep this past Sunday night. This morning my wife found our 12 year old brindle boxer, Alex, passed away. He had gone under the front porch and laid down up next to the house. I guess it was his time to go. He was my wife's little angel dog. That was her baby. We will miss him so much.

Misha

Misha left this world way too soon. In his short life, he was a dance mascot, traveler, and friend to Buster. He didn't know a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We love you Misha!
