Memorials for Boxers who are now at the Rainbow Bridge
The loss of a pet is extremely difficult. Our fur babies spend their lives giving us unconditional love. When a pet becomes seriously ill or passes away, we can take comfort in knowing he or she has gone to a happy, warm place called the Rainbow Bridge.
Carolina Boxer Rescue feels deeply for you in your time of grief. If you would like to add a lost pet to our Memorial, please fill out a Memorial Form. This will give you a place to visit your fur baby throughout the year. We ask that you donate $25.00 or an amount you feel appropriate to CBR to help other Boxers in danger of crossing to the Rainbow Bridge.
To make a donation, please visit PayPal. The email address to use for CBR's paypal account is:carolinaboxer@bellsouth.net. You may also send a check or money order to Carolina Boxer Rescue, Inc.,PO Box 87, Hampstead NC 28443 .
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Rusty entered our home as a foster and promptly hiked his leg to the Christmas tree! We fell in love with his underbite and ears that looked like a beanie hat. His dark eyes quickly filled with life as he began to put on the much needed weight. Trixie (our first forever boxer) quickly claimed him as hers and we knew that we would never let him leave. Thank you Rusty for letting Trixie love you. Thank you for being her companion and thank you for being our champion. All dogs go to heaven...................

My little "angel wearing a dog suit",
Gretel, you were loved oh so much.
Blu's bestest friend and my heart dog-
We miss you girlie girl!
Wende Fonvielle
Bubba was a big, sweet boy. On April 26th he managed to break through a screen door and run into the road. Bubba was a wonderful dog and he will be greatly missed. RIP, sweet Bubba...
Benson was a great dog! The minute I got him to foster, I knew I would be adopting him. Even though he was a young boy, he had very poor health. Unfortunately, his medical issues became to much for him rather quickly. He was a very loving boy and a great protector of his family. We all loved him and miss him very much!

Angus was the beloved boxer boy of CBR volunteers, Jen and Joe Kowalewski. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Angus went to be with his fur sister, Mandi, at Rainbow Bridge on May 22, 2010.
My wonderful Madison who helped me through the long lonely days. I will miss you dearly as will all the children and grandchildren. Every walk I take you will be with me. You were with me and Daisy and Willie not too long, but we always had good times together here on the lake. You were so very gentle and easy going with everyone who met you.

Sampson was 9 years old and was the best friend I could have asked for. He helped me through many hard times in my life and he gave me much joy and happiness. My only hope is that I gave him even a portion of happiness that he gave me. Farewell good friend I love you and you will be missed by everyone who's life you touched.

MochaBella was a very sick little angel when she came into rescue. Despite her sickness and pain she was so sweet to all who met her. We had hoped that MochaBella was strong enough to overcome all of her medical problems but she continued to weaken despite medical treatment. Today her foster mom helped her cross over Rainbow Bridge. Mocha is at peace now.... Thank you to Tina Pace (Mocha's foster mom) for loving her and caring for her.

MAGNUS

Magnus came to me from CBR in July of 2003. I didn't know it at the time, but an angel had just entered my life. I love you and miss you, the Magnus that left paw prints on my heart.

They say memories are golden,
Well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
No one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway,
And heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven,
And bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Our sweet Dewey has crossed Rainbow Bridge. After consulting with the vet it was decided that Dewey was just to weak to overcome his medical issues. We would like to thank his foster mom, Ashley, for loving and spoiling him for the 2 weeks he spent in her home.... and for being with him when he crossed the bridge. He will be greatly missed.
Carley crossed to Rainbow Bridge with her foster mom by her side. It was a difficult day and we want to thank Carley's foster mom, Dorothy, for seeing her through her journey. Carley will be missed...
Eloise became a CBR family member in January of 2009. Her sweet and silly personality took over my heart during a very difficult time. Her favorite pastime was to go “shopping” and was loved by all that knew her. Plagued by numerous health problems she maintained her spunk and love of life until the very end. On August 13 the sparkle seemed to leave her eyes and she let me know that she was tired. Surrounded by people that loved her and a yummy brownie to eat she crossed over to Rainbow Bridge in complete peace. She is missed deeply.
With much love to our Weezie

Allie came to us in late February 2009 from South Carolina, along with her brother Rocky. We will never forget seeing her for the first time when the back of the SUV opened and this beautiful fawn girl with one ear up and one ear down was looking at us. She quickly figured out the house rules, though she did have a knack for finding trouble occasionally! We officially adopted her on May 28th, 2009 and made that her "birthday." Her fur sister Chloe was a good friend, and her fur brother Rollie tolerated her too. She loved to run in the yard and woods, chase bugs, squirrels, and deer, and lay on the screen porch. We will miss her sweet face and goofy personality. She brought joy and energy to our family for 18 months, which was not long enough. Even though she was taken from us by lung cancer, she will live in our hearts forever.
We love you Allie!

Kim was born June 7, 2000.....me and my sis got her in Locust, NC when she was just 6 weeks old.......she has traveled with me to Canada to Florida and back & more. I am SO lucky to have had her in my life (the entire time I have been on my own.) Everybody knows Kim as a sweet lapdog. She stayed 42 pounds her WHOLE life....people told me to feed her...HA...if they only knew she probably ate better than they did ;) I miss my Kimmy Girl as does Duke....I am so greatful that he was here with her when she passed. My heart is totally shattered....this is the most difficult thing I have EVER been dealt in my life.
She never cried, made a sound or EVER let me know she was in discomfort....she was always strong FOR ME ...she would hate to see how I am carrying on now ... but she was the one who could/would ALWAYS make me laugh while I was crying uncontrollably...she is not here to do it anymore and I wish to display the courage and strength that she did in life!!!!

KAYA
March 1, 1999 - August 24, 2010
When I adopted Kaya I had no idea that she would live to be over ten years old. She very clearly was "sent" to us as an angel to watch over my son and I. She had fun chasing rabbits and laying in the sun on our 2 acres here in Hendersonville NC. I adopted her with the mindset to love her as long as she lived and my son, Nick, and I did. She was an angel and will be missed terribly.

JOSHUA
May 25, 2001 - September 29, 2010
The heavens cried buckets (TS Nicole) the day Joshua crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. All the dogs who have gone before him were waiting for him on the other side. We are thankful that he got to know what love felt like...everyone who met him saw how sweet & gentle he was, we only wish he didn't have to know the cruelty he endured for the first 5 yrs of his life.
I know he is watching over Chuck & I...I sat outside after going for a walk that reminded me of my walks with Josh. I sat in the backyard with tears in my eyes thinking about him...& Chuck came out the door from upstairs saying that he heard Josh's moaning & he knew he had to find me...that something was wrong. That was Josh telling Chuck that he's always with us. Needless to say, we miss him terribly...his pawprint is forever on our heart.

We would like to thank Janet Anson for making a donation in memory of Kimmy.
Travis Barker, poopie face and a million other nicknames, I can't believe you are gone. Words can't describe the loss and pain we all are feeling right now. It's hard to believe that six years ago, you came to us an utter mess. With patience and lots of love, you blossomed into the most handsome momma's boy. Our hearts ache and smile at the same time with memories of you and your basket full of toys: Kitteh, Pepe, Donkey, and Tuggy will all miss your slobbery and lovable face. We love you.
- Nancy Lynch
Please accept this in memory of our friends' (Joe, Leslie and Jolie Riopelle), dear Boxer, Nikko. We hope it will help other Boxers lead healthy, happy lives like his was.

If everyone approaches each day with joy, the world will be a better place. If each day we indulge in the joy of simple things – for you, waking up, breakfast, walking, treats, dinner, snuggling, toys, … every moment is joy. Add to that formula a firm dose of strength and an open heart, and find a smile no matter what.
You always want me to smile, too. So you’ll have to forgive me when I shed a tear every now and then when I smile and think of you. You are always in my heart, and a piece of my heart is always with you. I’ll be home soon, B-bear. We love you.

Crickett was 13 and we were priviliged to have her for 7 years. She came to us being afraid and skidish and with lots of love she lost most of that fear. We are greatful to Boxer rescue for allowing us to have Crickett as she added so much to our family. We already miss seeing her wag her nub of a tail and shake her her body with excitment. We are thankful to know she will never suffer again.
