March 16, 2010... Lobo is doing very well here, such a sweet boy !! He has no aggression issues in the house. He sleeps well, on his dog bed. He's been left out with my girls alone with no incidents:) He needs continued reminders about not lunging at passing cars. He gets soo excited at times, wagging his little nub, he may forget no jumping, but again he listens well once reminded. He has settled in so quickly, he loves to cuddle, and just lay his head on your leg when you're sitting. He'll be a loved companion for someone lucky !!
March 4, 2010... Lobo has returned to rescue through absolutely no fault of his own!! Lobo is a sweet boy who wants to please! More to come on Lobo as he adjusts to his new foster home!
May 28,2009... Since my fosters call me “moose” because of my Moose feet, I have started answering quite quickly to that name. This week I had to make a visit to the vet-I gave myself an eye infection…on purpose so that I could go see all the female Vet techs that swoon over how handsome and perfect I am. I am very good when ointment is slathered in my eyes. And in a few days I will be just great. I just don’t understand why everyone keeps trying to Marry me off to a small dog..I don’t really like them. I prefer my like sized sisters CBR Jasmine and Piper. I marked my new house on the first day I arrived, and never since. I just had to stake my claim. If you walk me too close to a busy road..I might lunge at a car. I figured..if they are getting close enough to run me over, I am going to ram them first. I am a great copilot in the car. I don’t bark, lunge or misbehave. If you have dog toys, the solid squeaky kind..Then I am yours forever. I don’t chew on couches and chairs or tables..like SOME boxers I have met…I just want toys. I like food. You have that? Then you have ME!! I still wear a choker or harness when I walk…because if a small dog or something that looks tasty gets too close..I am a tugger. Foster Mom says that is bad manners. I like small kids..but sometimes my size knocks them over. I am young..manners come with time. I realy am an exceptional Boy. My foster LOVE me. So will you. I’m confident. LOL
May 17, 2009... Lobo finally seems to be catching on to his name. He definitely answers to “Moose” and also responds quickly to whistling sounds. He has begun to understand Back up, mainly from watching Piper and CBR Jasmine. He learns by example, and often you can tell he is studying the other boxers responses and mimicking them. He will sit and “Paw” in a flash. He uses “down” to lay down. He still believes he is a lap dog…and we are still working on “Off” to get him off the bed, or furniture as needed. Quite frankly, he is a big moosh-ball and very hard to say NO to. He still knocks over the baby, but does not try to eat the baby like he might with a small dog or cat. He licks and nibbles on Lucas’s feet. He needs to learn some “little people etiquette”, but that is only because he does not understand HIS size! He is remarkable. He can run with the bulls or just mellow out. He is very well controlled. He has his tugging moments on leash, but that gets better each day. He has also found his voice..and like to stare out the window and BARK. He has been watching Dog whisperer on TV with his Furblings..and will cease barking with a firm finger shake and a SSSSHHHHH
May 6, 2009... Lobo the Hobo has adjusted very well to his new Foster home. His Foster daddy calls him “Moose” because of his solid size and big feet. Lobo eats well, and loves treats. He is food driven and a typical man…the way to his heart is thru his stomach! He rarely barks and in general is exceptionally laid back. He loves his Squeaker dog toys, balls, etc. His only character flaw is his determination to eat small dogs and cats, and the fact that he does jump up on people when excited. He is very loving and loyal. For a Boxer to be age 2 and this laid back is rare…he really is a joy to have around. He loves to play with his Furblings (Boxers Piper and CBR Jasmine). Lobo the Hobo appears to be fully house trained, but needs to be crated or taken out every 3-4 hours. We did leave him free in the house for 4 hours, and he did not get into anything. He is eager to please, walks well on the leash and does not seems to have any desire to leap or jump our fenced in backyard. He likes to be close to his humans and will rarely go off on any independent adventures.
He is UTD on his shots, healthy and ready to make your home..HIS home. He is an exceptional guy..and so well natured. We describe him as “mellow yellow”. Isn’t he handsome?? He knows it too. He will sit in front of mirrors and stare at himself. He is also inclined to spend hours sitting by windows and watching the world outside.
April 22, 2009... My name is Lobo. That is what my new foster humans have decided I should be named. First, I was “Larry the Cable Guy”, then they renamed me “Grimli”. I decided not to answer to either name in hopes that a big, strong name would be assigned to me. Seriously, “Larry the Cable Guy” could get me beat up at a dog park!
I have really big feet. REALLY big. I am a solid, strong 55lb. 2 year old boy! I am very playful and very much a wiggler. I like to sit, and give paw. I like to jump up on people, but my new Mom says that it is not polite…so I am learning new words like “Down” and “Off”.
I go into my crate willingly, and they call me “Crate trained”. I do not bark, whine or act out while in my crate. I just lay down and look around until my eyes get heavy and I fall asleep. TRICKED YOU…I’m not sleeping..I’m waiting for you to come let me out so we can play!!
I have not had any accidents in my new house. I am pretty good on the leash, but love to run around with my Foster Furblings in the fenced in back yard. I am very well behaved in the car. I took a long ride today and spent most of it sleeping and looking out the window and the big world! I had a wonderful home, but my owners could not keep me due to severe health problems. I DO NOT understand small dogs or cats…so it would be better to be in a home myself or with a similar sized furbling. I like Kids…they are fun. But I have to learn not to knock them over. I just want to smother them with boxer kisses.
I am UTD on all my shots, neutered and furever home ready! I stick close to my new mommy, because I am loyal and loving.
