DAPHNE
December 16, 2009...  We took her to grandma's house for Thanksgiving and won her heart! Mostly because she HATES her crate and will bark almost the whole time...so my mom would just let her out with her. (we're still working to get her feeling more relaxed in her crate). Daphne did GREAT with her 3 small pugs. She tried to dominate them a little but was just very curious and extremely gentle. We think she thought they were puppies! Daphne is just so precious and loves more than anything being around people and feeling loved. She gets along great with other dogs but seems that she would be happiest with someone who needs a great companion to spend lots of time with. A lot of times she'll go outside and run around with our other dogs but comes in after a few minutes and just runs over to cuddle up with you on the couch.

November 22, 2009...  Daphne has been adjusting really well here. She's learning how to be a real happy dog! I think whoever had her before left her outside because she was real hesitant to ever want to go out, and would have accidents. Now, I think she's learned that its so much fun outside! She loves to go out and hasn't had another accident since her 2nd day here. She now wags her nub and does the boxer wiggle. It's almost like she never knew how to play, but our dogs have been teaching her. She loves to chase the ball and is SO fast, but runs really funny! She also gets so excited about getting fed she just spazzes out. She just got de-wormed and should finally start to put on some weight. She is still extremely laid back and will make a great dog!

November 6, 2009...  We just got a new foster who we've named Daphne. We pulled her just in time before she was put down at an SC shelter. Let me start by saying she is SUCH a doll. She is extremely gentle and affectionate. Daphne does great with our dogs, both males. She is very small, both tiny and underfed-part of which is due to her whipworms (which will get treated soon). She is extremely submissive and despite her weight will allow the other dogs to steal a bite of her food.

She seems a little unsure of the house still, carefully exploring the house and "tiptoeing" on the hardwood, and was startled by the t.v. She was probably kept outside. She seems to understand to go to the bathroom outside, but has had a couple tiny accidents- probably because she doesn't understand how to ask to go out.

Daphne is such a sweet girl, I don't see how anyone wouldn't just love her!
