BUDDY
August 10, 2010...  Buddy has acted like quite the little gentleman since he's arrived at this new foster home in Pittsboro, NC.  He does well riding in the car and walking on the leash.  He's been very polite with everyone he's met, human and dog.  I've heard from Buddy's previous foster that he sometimes gets defensive with other dogs about food, so I've been feeding him alone.  It's been our experience that this is only an issue with other male dogs, so I'd recommend a forever home for buddy where he could be the only dog or the only male dog, along with a dominant female.  He's visited often by a dominant female, Hershey, and he's given her quite the wide berth, reacting to please her any time she acts the least bit negative.  I want to emphasize how well-trained Buddy is.  He knows Sit, Stay, Howdy, Come, Go, and probably more that I don't!  He's calm in the house, and not destructive when I'm away.  His favorite activities are relaxing on a blanket and staring out the window at birds and bunnies.  He is energetic at times, and will spin like a top when I grab his leash.  He seems to have been taught that his 'jumping up' is bad, as he jumps back and up at the same time to keep his paws off the human.  He's very interested in Cats and Horses, so he'll need a home where he can be away from both.   Buddy is a joy to be around and is ready to find his Forever Home.

August 5, 2010...  Buddy is doing great in his new foster home.  He's getting fat and sassy.  Buddy is a wonderful family dog.  He would be better for a family with children over the age of 5 since he is a big boy and sometimes gets excited and doesn't realize his own strength.  He would great for a family that is very active and could take him walking, hiking, running and keep him busy.  Buddy presently lives with a female and male boxer.  I would not suggest him to anyone who has cats.  He seems to be fairly cat aggressive.  He is fine with young puppies, as I had a puppy in the house for a few days and he had a blast with him.

Buddy does not need to be crated, as he is non destructive.  However, if needed to be crated, he will go happily into his crate with a treat and the words "Kennel Buddy".  Buddy lost his forever family due to a divorce.  Please consider him for your family as he is searching for that forever family now.  Buddy is a great dog and deserves a good home.

April 29, 2010...  Buddy was a CBR puppy 2 years ago.  His adoptive family needs to return him to rescue due to unforeseen circumstances.  Here is what they have to say:
Buddy is in need of loving family and good home.  He does need someone with patience that can teach him better manners.  He is housetrained and can be left for an entire workday with no concern for accidents.  He is very smart and brings a lot of energy to the home.  He currently has a fur sibling that he gets along with very well and spends a lot of time playing with.  His best friend is a teenager that has loved him for the 2 years and is heartbroken to see him find a new home but understands this is best.  I do not know how well he would do with cats or small children because he is very eager and energetic with his 65 lbs.

Unfortunately, because of unforeseen hardships we are looking for a new home for Buddy.  He has been a true joy and will bring lots of laughter and energy to a good loving home.  Please give him a forever home!
