ALLIE
October 31, 2010...  In my week of dogsitting Allie, I have to admit she has quite a personality.  She is very sociable with kids and people of all sorts.  She has been around my 2 year old, my 10 year old, and an 8 year old neighbor friend as well. She loves to go on long walks and loves to romp in the yard.  She took a short minute to warm up to our boxer puppy but she also quickly became best of friends with him. They have been inseparable! She is very loving, listens very well, and we are working on "sit" which is coming along pretty good. We've had no potty accidents at all in the house.  She loves to play outside but will let you know when she's ready to come in.  She loves to play fetch but needs some coaching on giving it back to you. She'll lay by your feet or cuddle in your lap if you let her.  I have to admit she is quite a ball of energy but not more than our boxer puppy (thank goodness).  We replaced Allie's old red collar with a new pink collar and she seemed to know right away that she looked so pretty in pink.  She looked as if she was smiling at me.  She doesn't seem to have any issues sharing as she and our boxer puppy share the same feeding dish although they have separate ones.  They like to eat together, I suppose.  In my own short experience with Allie, in my opinion, I think Allie would do great in a home with kids, whether young or grown, but it may take a moment for her to warm up to another dog in the house but with patience, she will become best friends with another dog... she'd also do just as great as the only dog in the house but would need someone who could walk her daily (at least one long walk daily or two short walks) as she is a bundle of energy.  You won't be disappointed with her as she is easy to fall in love with if you give her the chance to show you that she would be your fur-ever friend for life.

October 13, 2010...  If you want a little girl with a lot of personality Allie is the gal for you!  Her pictures don't do her justice she is adorable.  She is very sweet and she is happy to hang out in the yard hunting lizards.
She does great on walks and loves car rides.  She is about 95% potty trained, the 5 % is when its raining...you have to make sure she goes outside.  She is still a puppy at one year old and is high energy; if you are looking for a couch potato she isn't the one for you.  She and my male are steady playing from the moment I come home till bed time.  She does good with children as she loves my 3 month old nephew.  She hasn't meet a person yet she doesn't like and she seems to be okay with some male dogs (Allie is slightly picky about her dog friends).  While she likes playing at my house she would love a home with more outside time!!  She is a sweetie and just waiting for her forever home!

August 10, 2010...  Allie is doing well in her foster home.  She is quickly gaining some much needed weight.  Allie loves playing with her foster fur sister, Cascey.  Allie does make funny, loud, growl like sounds when she plays.... the sound was a little intimidating for Cascey at first but she soon realized that Allie was playing with her!  Now they have a great time together!  Allie's foster family has discovered that she does not like cats and will go after them.... so Miss Allie will be moved to a new foster home soon!  Allie is a very sweet girl and overall is doing great.  If you are looking for a great boxer girl (and you have no cats!) then please consider Allie!

July 29, 2010...  Aliie continues to do well in her foster home.  She is getting along great with her playmate, Cascey.  Allie is eating 3 times a day to help her gain some weight and is already looking better.  Allie is doing well with housetraining - it's been 2 days since she has had an accident in the house.  She's not fond of her crate but it's getting better each day.

July 23, 2010...  Allie went to the vet today.  She weighs just 29 lbs!!  And, She is heartworm positive.  CBR will get her treated for her heartworms once she has gained some weight and the vets feel she is healthy enough to undergo treatment.

July 22, 2010...  Allie is new to rescue.  She was just picked up from the shelter today.  She is VERY thin and tiny for an adult boxer.  She enjoyed a bath and having her nails clipped.  When she was done, all she wanted to do was play with the other dogs!  She is about 1 year old.  More to come as we get to know her!
